Safety is personal to many of us at DAS Aviation School. Our conversations with safety leaders have shown us that it’s more than just following rules - it’s about ensuring everyone returns home safely after each day. Strong safety leadership means creating a culture where safety is a priority and empowering everyone to speak up about safety concerns. This year, we honor our dedicated DAS Staff who have demonstrated their commitment to safety through their actions and initiatives. Together, we continue to enhance our programs and embrace new technologies to uphold the value of safety in everything we do.

Prioritizing the mental well- being of both DAS students and staff has become a top concern. Our psychological safety, which reflects how valued and supported individuals feel within the organization, plays a significant role in ensuring our physical safety. Effective safety leadership recognizes that safety is a collaborative effort between students, staff, and management.

Aspiring Astronaut Since as far back as I can remember, I have always aspired to become the world’s youngest astronaut. However, my parents dismissed it as a mere child’s fantasy. All that changed when I wrote out the landing procedure of an airplane on our home’s whiteboard. This impressed my parents, and they began testing my knowledge and abilities in aeronautical engineering, asking me questions about space, airplanes, and more. On one occasion, during a trip to India on Air Arabia airlines, I had the opportunity to talk to a pilot. In the cockpit, the pilot questioned me about the functionality of the Airbus and even allowed me to sit in the pilot’s chair.
